You cannot reject what you do not understand. Rather, they simply cannot even begin to comprehend modern technology. They have not rejected modern technology. And ignorance should never be celebrated. Their primitive lifestyle is chosen for them by their own ignorance of the world. It would be one thing if they had chosen to live a primitive lifestyle, despite knowing the ways of the rest of the world. But this is not doing them any favors in the long run. And they are lucky that the modern world has developed a liberal conscience that forbids taking from the weak and giving to the strong. They are just lucky that through out history they lived in a remote enough location that more advanced civilizations didn’t seek to conquer and murder the lot of them. The only reason their primitive existence has lasted this long is sheer luck. To be blunt, they are a glitch or anomaly in human evolution. Maybe that’s the language they understand That gives you the right to respond the same way. If they respond to peaceful in-counter by being violent. Shoot them if you need to in order to get out alive. You should have the right in self defense to fight back. But if for some reason a boat goes off course or malfunctions. They will either survive it or they won’t. When the tsunami hit a helicopter check in on them. There has been limited peaceful contact with them. I truly believe that the North Sentineliese people should be left alone.īut anyways, few people would be even aware of this island's existence around here on CV, so here goes a curiosity. So it would partially not right to send a drone. It may be dangerous for the island tribes if they bite it or eat with battery handled hands. Secondly, There is also a chance of opening the battery and parts of drone getting exposed to chemical. The anthropologists previously noticed that the north sentinal people had metal from boats in there arrow heads. They make weapons and other things for them. This happens to them when the objects get to there shores. The islanders get a new material from the drone to make sharp objects like arrow heads. But the problem is if the drone fails and fall on the island. Sending a drone will be a good idea to go in depth about north sential people behaviour. The government of india decided to let them be and stopped contacting them. IMO, It will be not wrong to send a drone on the island to study them but only with the Indian government approval. We have a lot of urgent issues to take care of, which leave us with little to no time or energy to spend trying to figure out an extremely isolated and dangerous primitive tribe and they definitely don't need our diseases, wars and existential uncertainties. So, we must let them be, we must leave them alone. Look how much we achieved through the centuries with no contact and interchange with the Sentinelese. Also, aside our intellectual curiosity and thirst for knowledge - after all, they are a huge mystery in this technological world that doesn't allow mystery - we don't actually need them to exist. I mean, they have been there for over twelve thousand years or more and they are still going on quite well. They don't need our technology, our knowledge, our complex philosophy and our gods to exist and survive. What do they eat? What do they drink? How do they deal with their dead? Do they have any kind of political organization or familial institution? Do they worship any god? Do they believe in any entity? And how important answer to these questions is for our comprehension of life, the world and the cosmos? To the last question, there might be an answer and that would be: absolutely any. As far as we can imagine, there might be no written registers of their backgrounds, for it is possible they don't have an written alphabet, which brings to the other supposition that the language they speak, whatever it is, has no relation at all to any of the +6000 languages there are today. They are a very primitive tribe, still living in the Neolithic - or even in the Paleolithic. It is crystal clear that they don't want anything to do with anything or anyone outside their world, circumscribed by the North Sentinel Island. Their hostility towards the outsiders hadn't changed a bit since the first attempts. After the 2004 Tsunami, some volunteers from the UN had been sent to the island, in order to provide help to them, in case they need some.
